Embracing Uncertainty
I approached this AI integrated workflow with a playful and experimental mindset. Exploring how I can find an innovative way to strategically implement machine learning in a production environment. As an artist, I start with big brush strokes, and work my way to the details. I thought about the bigger picture, how a campaign feels as a whole, what techniques are required to make a piece feel convincing, cohesive and close to complete. Through this process I learned that perfection is the enemy of progress. I've grown to like the small mistakes in the film, it reminds us who we are as human beings.

Process
The goal of this study was to propose a new phase in production, instead of showing a client just style-frames and a storyboard at the beginning of production, we can now show a storyboard in motion. This allows clients to get a greater sense of the final product, it allows for ideas to be seen instead of just described. It creates touch points of discussion. I trained a model with my own style-frames, the mountain scene is the only prompted scene. Start and end frames were then used to prompt AI to animate shots. The shots were then upscaled, edited together in a sequence and post affects and sound design were applied. The typography is the only keyframed animation in the sequence.
